Great article! Just one small thing. Cream of Tartar is definitely not the same as tartaric acid. You can find both in the baking section of good grocery stores. Or if there is a winery near you, they normally have 55lb bags of citric acid and tartaric acid. Tartaric acid being natural grape acid. Cream of Tartar is alkaline so this may have raised the alkalinity of your home made mix. Anyway, still a great article.

Thanks for the post Michael Ann. . . I do not have experience with using the protocol with the Budwig protocol. Others have written saying they used the baking soda in tandem with chemo and radiation. As far as over oxygenating. . . I am not sure. I am a proponent for deep foucused breathing and would not give that up for anything. The first time I got hope was during the baking soda protocol when it felt like my whole body and all the cells were breathing pure oxygen. It was something else! I also do not know anything about Ozone therapy. . . Vj

Hi there...
Was wondering if you know if you can do the Budwig protocol in tandem with the baking soda/maple syrup? I read somewhere that it over oxygenates the body, and is not good...Thanks! *Dr. Budwig also warned against using Ozone therapy on this diet too.. :(

Hi Ann. . . I got a couple of emails from people with melanoma and they said that the BSmBS helped. Yes. . . our thoughts are very important. Focused breathing works! Good luck to your friend. I would suggest that she start doing the deep focused breathing. If she needs help she can search the site for PTR Breathing, Don Porter Breathing, and CD Meditation. Vj

Victor, thanks for the kind words and especially the 'thanks for surviving' words. (grin). As far as the dosages, there is no way I can pretend to know what another person's body or Self will respond to. People come in all different sizes, weights, belief systems, and desires. Focused Breathing on the other hand, is something that I highly recommend as a self-determined tool that works wonders. It enhances all modalities, whether allopathic or natural.

When I took the baking soda I took what it took to raise my pH. And, as you read, I was hoping it would take it above 8 or 8.2, which it did. And then I was hoping after holding it above that criteria for 4 or 5 days that that would work. According to the follow up xrays for bone cancer, it did! And you probably also noticed that I listened to my body talking to me. It rebelled when I started taking 3 tsps twice a day. But the biggest hope I had was when I felt that my body was 'breathing on its own.' Do you remember reading that. . . thanks, Vj
