4:30am Laid in bed not really wanting to get up. Hit the sack 12:30am the previous day. Did get up and did do a urine pH check.
Showed 8.5+ on a pH stick.
5:00am PTR/DJP Breathing for 50 minutes. After I got into it I started counting the seconds that I would inhale and then exhale.
10 to 15 seconds was pretty comfortable, but once I started relaxing into the process I soon found mySelf taking deeper and
deeper breaths. 15 seconds from inhale to complete exhale. All this through my nose. That would be inhale through my nose; exhale
through my nose. Nose breathing has some advantages. One of the advantages of nose breathing is that my mouth does not dry out
like it would if I breathed through my mouth.

I counted the seconds in my head – one thousand one, one thousand two, one thousand three, etc. I was surprised when my breath
would counted to 20, and then 25, and then 30. That was 30 seconds for one breath; and it was comfortable. Not comfortable enough
to repeat it for 2 in a row, but still I did not strain. What I am getting at here is that it just takes a little effort to breath
deeper. Not that I would walk around taking 2 breaths every minute; not even 10 or 15 second breaths would fit into that mold.
The whole idea on this process is to oxygenate the system, bring in relaxation, and in some cases to clear the mind for wanted
answers or things.

6:00am to 7:00am Took a walk along the bay. It felt invigorating, especially after that 50 minute Breating session. The relaxation
and feeling extra good feeling stayed with me during that walk.

7:50am Saliva pH check. 7.25 to 7.50 on the pH Stick. When it dried a bit longer it read 7.50. The pH paper strip registered between
7.2 and 7.4. Alfter it set a little longer the reading was at 7.6.

I ordered new pH strips and expect them in a couple of days.

8:05am Baking soda solution. This time only the 2 teaspoons of baking soda added to 1 cup of warm water. No molasses this time. No
particular reason other than I did not feel like molasses this morning.

Tingly lips today. Also stool taking on a yellow tinge. Little bit of sweats.

2:30pm Saliva pH check. 7.5 on the stick and 7.6 on the paper. Urine pH registered at 8.5+

3:22pm After doing another session of Breathing I checked my pH. Saliva on the stick was 7.5, and on the paper strip was very close to 8.0.

3.23pm Drank another solution. This time I added agave to the 2 teaspoon of baking soda mixed into 1 cup of warm water. Tasted good!

8:15pm pH check for saliva – stick came in at 7.5 and paper strip registered at 7.8.

9:15 Trumpet practice. Only me at home, so can get in a few sweet notes on the trumpet. Sweet notes were hard to come by for me. It took
a long long time to finally get a centered sweet sounding note on the trumpet. As a matter of fact, it took a long time for me to make
ANY kind of note on the trumpet. It is one of those things I put out there in front of me as a carrot to have something to look
forward to around the time when I was diagnosed with terminal cancer. And when I say a long time I am not talking weeks. I am talking
years. I have noticed that many of the things I do involve air and the breath – water aerobics, trumpet, walking, PTR Breathing, DJP
Breathing, and reaching for a certain alkalinity via diet or an ocassional run with baking soda.

Tomorrow I want to talk more about breathing. Today is my last day on baking soda. I will wrap it up tomorrow with a few words.
In the coming days I look forward to writing about my experiences with breathing. Perhaps a daily log similar to the baking soda.

11:40am Final pH check with the baking soda protocol. Saliva pH came in on the stick at 7.25+, and on the paper strip at 7.3.
Urine pH showed 8.5+ . . . Good Night! Vernon “Vito” Johnston
